Zayn & Taylor Swift - I Don't Wanna Live Forever

Former One Direction’s member Zayn Malik and Country/Pop Star Taylor Swift have teamed up on a new single called I Don’t Wanna Live Forever. This song has been written and produced especially for one of the biggest blockbuster movie franchises, Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel of Fifty Shades of Grey released in 2015.
This smooth and sensual R&B Pop ballad is a surprising collaboration, closer to the sound of Zayn’s debut album Mind of Mine, where you can see Taylor Swift leave her comfort zone and dare swimming to another register. They are a good mixture and have much more in common with previous artists like The Weeknd’s Earn It for Zayn and Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do for Taylor.
They are both versatile and deliver their own breathy high notes for the pre-chorus and sultry falsetto vocals at the beginning of the track. The hook in the chorus is really strong and makes difficult to forget “I just wanna keep calling your name, until you come back home”.
The only black hole about this duet is the lack of harmonies between the two singers. It feels like they have done their own parts separately.
However, I have no doubt this song will be on top of the charts worldwide. I Don’t Wanna Live Forever is currently #1 in Spain and Sweden, #3 in Australia and Norway, #4 in Czech Republic, Danemark, Europe, New Zealand, #5 in Hungary, Lebanon, Portugal, Scotland, #6 in Germany, Slovakia, The USA, #7 in France and Ireland, #8 in Israel, #9 in Austria and Canada, #10 in Finland and Netherlands and Top 20 in Belgium, Italy, Switzerland and The UK.
