On this Day, I would like to premiere a new section of the Blog :

The Discoveries around the World.

Today is Karmin's Day ! I discovered this Pop/R&B music Duo during an appearance on Ellen, the Incredible American television Talk Show hosted by comedian/actress Ellen Degeneres. They are known via the social networks for their covers of Nicki Minaj's Super Bass, Chris Brown's Look At Me and Dr. Dre & Eminem's I Need A Doctor featuring Skylar Grey.

Karmin released their debut album, Hello, on May 8 2012. The album is a great mix between Pop, R&B and amazing rapping parts where Amy can show us her impressive vocals joined with her hip hop roots and infectious rap flow. Through the 7 songs and potential singles, we can recognize the influence from P!nk, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj on catchy pop and club banger Brokenhearted and Hello, Beyonce on the upbeat track Too many Fish and of course, Busta Rhymes on the Surprising Hip Hop/Rap I Told You So because of the excellent rapping flow

I totally disagree with Rolling Stone when Jody Rosen said :"Karmin make you hate Pop Music". It is the contrary ! Karmin is Original, Fun, Creative and a real Breath of Fresh Air in the current Music Industry. I bought the abum and listened to it 10 times in a row so far...

With Crash the Party, the non-album single, Karmin took the industry by storm and felt it was the best introduction to the business through the fans "crashing the (music) industry's party". The single gained a moderate success charting #36 on the Billboard Top 40 Mainstream.

The first single off the Brand New album, Brokenhearted, debuted at #84 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart to peak at #16, #19 in Canada, #10 on the US Pop Songs, #9 in Australia and the US Adult Pop Songs, #6 in the UK, #5 in New Zealand, #1 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs.

The second single, the infectious Hello, debuted at #39 on the US Pop Songs and #28 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs so far.

All the Music Lovers should find their Happiness in this Pop/R&B/Hip Hop-esque Album !
