2017 Golden Globes
The Golden Globes are considered as a major part of the film industry’s awards season that culminates each year with the Academy Awards and Festival de Cannes for the Festival Season. This formal and dinner ceremony recognizes excellence in film and television both domestic and foreign of 2016.
This year, the ceremony will take place this Sunday at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills and be televised by NBC. The famous talk-show host, Jimmy Fallon, will host the 74th Golden Globe Awards ceremony.
The 2017 Golden Globes will celebrate the actor with the most nominations ever (her 30th Globe nod this year), Meryl Streep, as the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award honouree. But will also include a special tribute to fallen stars Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds.
On the movie side, there will be a tough battle between La La Land and Moonlight. La La Land leads this section with seven nominations followed closely by Moonlight with six nods. Another favourite is Manchester by the Sea that recently receives the Best movie award during the National Board of Review.

On the television side, there will be a showdown between The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story leading with 5 nominations and the Night Manager closely behind with 4 nods.
New exciting shows are well represented in the list such as The Crown, Westworld, This Is Us and Stranger Things.
