The X Factor UK - Series 13 - Episode 4

The fourth episode of the X Factor UK was broadcasted on September 4th 2016. The auditions took place at Old Trafford in Manchester and Wembley Arena in London. Compared to Saturday, all the auditions were pretty good and even great except one from Muchaneta.

The auditions of the three first contestants were held at old Trafford in Manchester: Ryan Wilkins, Muchaneta Mpofu, Tom & Laura.

Ryan Wilkins performed Rihanna’s We Found Love. He has a magic tone, quite fabulous => a really good and surprising audition. Muchaneta Mpofu definitely failed to impress the judges with her cover of Ace of Base’s All That She Wants. She was off key, pitchy but hilarious so not right for the show. The last act, Tom & Laura, performed an acoustic version of Kings of Leon’s Sex On Fire. It was a really good audition getting a standing ovation from Sharon.

The all five contestants from London were quite great. The first to go was Freddy Parker. His performance of Amy Winehouse’s Love is a Losing Game was, in my opinion, a little flat lacking of emotions. I have to see more from him at bootcamp. The second one, Chanal Benjilali, had a good audition of Lauryn Hill’s Ex-Factor. It was very relevant and cool.

Matt Terry and Irina Dedyuk’s auditions were amazing: Matt performed a quite interesting cover of Ben E. King’s Stand By Me. He is vocally gifted for a young boy. Irina gets Simon’s pulse racing with Tina Turner’s The Best => a good Russian voice and good performance. She simply nailed it!

The last but not the least is the Living Doll, Sada Vidoo. Her performance of Pat Benatar’s Love is a Battlefield had the wow factor of this season. It was a great cover very theatrical and well orchestrated.

For me, Sada Vidoo’s performance was one of the best so far.
